The Open Space and Recreation Plan Committee (OS&RPC) develops five-year plans for Wilbraham in order to qualify the Town for state funding of Open Space and Recreation land purchases. Since the approval of the 2004 Plan, the Committee has steadfastly pursued each of the goals above and continually pursues Town board and public support.
Goals of the 2004 Plan include:
1. Maintain support of Town boards and the public at large.
2. Actively manage growth to protect rural atmosphere, scenic areas, historic sites and community character.
3. Preserve and protect environmental resources.
4. Plan for recreation opportunities.
Open space and recreation are vitally important to any community. Linkage among open space areas within Wilbraham via walking trails remains the highest priority for the Open Space and Recreation Plan Committee. The following discussion clearly describes the treasures that are ours:
