Thank you for your interest in renting the pavilion at the Spec Pond Recreational Facility in Wilbraham, Massachusetts.
The Wilbraham Parks and Recreation Department will be accepting reservations for the 2012 season beginning January 3. An application packet for the rental of the pavilion is attached above in a pdf format for you to print off, complete and submit to the WPRD with your rental request. In the packet you will find the necessary information for your rental; fees, options, rental proceedures, etc. A reservation takes time to confirm, and the rental calendar fills fast. Please give the office a call to see if the date you are looking for is available (413-595-2816) before submitting your rental application.
Spec Pond Pavilion Rentals:
The Town of Wilbraham is proud to offer outstanding facilities at Spec Pond for events such as weddings, showers, birthday parties, company picnics, reunions and all kinds of other events, from May through early September.
The park like facilities include:
 An open sided pavilion with picnic tables ( Pavilion can hold up to about 200-250 people) An updated kitchen with sinks and a refrigerator/freezer (no stove or oven). Outlets are available for crock pots, etc.
Restrooms- (one is handicap accessible)
A covered barbeque pit for grilling.
A horseshoe pit (advanced notice required)
A small play area for young children
Basketball courts, fields and the beach are not included in the rental. They may be reserved for an additional fee if available. Please see the rental packet attached above in pdf format. Inflatables are allowed only under certain conditions and must have approval prior to the rental. There are other restrictions so be sure to understand them before you confirm your rental.
The facility can be reserved on weekdays and weekends, generally from May through early September. The area is open from 9:00AM and closes at dusk. Town sponsored events have priority.
Those interested in renting the Spec Pond Facilities should understand their responsibilities include:
Requesting and processing appropriate paper work with the Recreation Department.
Securing, if deemed necessary, all permits and licenses.
Submitting proper payment with the rental contract (appropriate checks).
Obtaining the key a few days prior to the scheduled event.
Providing appropriate clean up of the facility when the event is finished.
There are trash bins on the premises. Renters must place all rubbish in the bins at the close of the event.
Cleaning supplies and brooms are located in the pavilion to assist in the post-event clean up.
A complete checklist will be issued when keys are picked up.
A fee is charged for the rental of the Spec Pond facility according to which facilities are being reserved and the number of individuals attending your event. Rates can be found in the rental packet attached above in pdf format. These rates are determined at the time of rental. A $250.00 security deposit is required, and will be refunded after the facility has been inspected for post-event facility conditions, the keys have been returned, and the number in your party has been confirmed. If the number of attendees exceeds the number you have paid for, the difference will be subtracted from your security deposit. A $25.00 fee will be added if rental is requested within one week of the event.
Reservations for the Spec Pond area will open the first business day of January within the calendar year on a first come- first serve basis. Once reservations are confirmed, refunds will not be given unless the date can be filled with another event. A $25 cancellation fee will be charged even if your date can be rebooked.

From the North - Interstate I91 south to Springfield, to I291 (Boston/Indian Orchard), to Massachusetts Turnpike Entrance on right head east on Turnpike to exit 7 (Ludlow). Take left onto Route 21, straight through first light, take right onto bridge at next light, take left at light at end of bridge onto Stony Hill Road in Wilbraham; at next set of lights, turn left onto Boston Road (Rte. 20) continue on this road until you see the Monson Savings Bank on your left (in front of the Post Office), take a left into Post Office Park at the lights after Monson Savings Bank, the entrance to Spec Pond is on the right in front of the Scantic Valley YMCA.

From the West - Massachusetts Turnpike east to Exit 7 in Ludlow.
