R/E: Vehicle break ins
In an effort to keep the residents of Wilbraham safe and well informed the Police Department is releasing the following information. Like surrounding towns, the Town of Wilbraham has experienced a rash of motor vehicle breaks. Since mid October to December the Police Department has investigated 26 motor vehicle breaks. The majority of these breaks have been into UNSECURED vehicles. Pocketbooks, loose change, GPS, radar detectors and jackets have been taken from these breaks. The majority of the breaks have happened on the side streets off of Stony Hill Rd. and Main St. between the hours of 8pm and 6am. In an effort to deter and apprehend the individuals the Police Dept. has increased patrols in marked and unmarked vehicles. The Police Department also needs the help of its residents to deter and apprehend the subjects
committing this crime. The department is requesting that residents report any suspicious vehicle, persons or activity to them immediately upon noticing it. The department is also requesting that every resident secure their vehicle and not store any valuables in it
