The Town’s Conservation Commission is a seven-member municipal committee appointed by the Board of Selectmen. The Commission maintains the responsibility to protect the Town’s natural resources by upholding the State’s Wetland Protection Act and the Wilbraham Wetland By-Law.
Landowners may request that the Commission determine whether a wetland area exists by filing a Request for Determination. The Commission also oversees approximately 1,500 acres of conservation land throughout Wilbraham and is involved in developing long-range plans for the maintenance of those areas and the possibility of acquiring additional open space.
