Building Department

Duties & Responsibilities

The Building Department is responsible for processing all construction, electrical, plumbing, gas and HVAC permits for Residential and Commercial buildings in the Town of Wilbraham. Electrical, Plumbing and Gas permits are processed daily. Building Permits may take up to 30 days to review and approve.  Once the Building Permit is approved, it is mailed to the property owner unless a stamped self-addressed envelope from the Contractor is included with the application. At this time, you may mail your permits to the Town of Wilbraham, 240 Springfield St, Wilbraham, MA  01095 or you may drop them off at the Town Hall in the outside secure drop box.   

All inspections with the exception of Homeowners doing the work themselves shall be called in by the Contractor to the applicable extension. Electrical inspections are scheduled between 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M, Monday - Wednesday and Friday. Plumbing/Gas Inspections are scheduled between 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. (Noon) on Tuesday and Thursday and between 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Wednesday. Building Inspections are scheduled on an as-needed basis between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M.

Mr. Walsh also serves as the Zoning Enforcement Officer.
