Some Recent Arrests

On February 21 at 3:35 p.m. Officer Joseph Brewer stopped a motor vehicle on Boston Road for failing to stop for a red light. The passengers were not wearing seatbelts and were asked for identification. Jennifer Prevost 34, of Palmer was arrested for having a warrant.  The driver was cited for the speed violation.


On February 22 at 12:25 a.m. Officer David Diogo observed a speeding motor vehicle on Boston Road.  He made a u-turn and found the vehicle had crashed into a snow bank. The operator showed signs of impairment and was given field sobriety tests. Norberto Luna 34, of Chicopee was arrested for OUI Liquor and Negligent Operation.


On February 14 CVS reported a shoplifting incident of over $1,000.00 worth of perfume. Detective Michael Cygan took the original report.  The employee was able to give a physical and vehicle description of the female who drove off.  Detective Jeffrey Rudinski followed up on the case, reviewed the store video and other documents. Detective Rudinski was able to identify the suspect with the assistance of Springfield Police Detectives as Tanya Jackson 43, of Springfield. Detective Rudinski obtained an arrest warrant for Ms Jackson for the larceny.


On February 28 at 2:36 a.m. Officer David Diogo observed a speeding motor vehicle on Springfield St. by Stony Hill Road. The vehicle was stopped. The driver showed signs of impairment. He attempted and failed field sobriety tests. Matthew Ashford 32, of Springfield was placed under arrest for OUI Liquor.


On March 1 at 1:52 a.m. Officer David Diogo stopped a vehicle for speeding on Stony Hill Road. Sgt. Baldwin assisted. The 17 year old operator failed field sobriety tests and was charged with OUI Liquor, Minor in Possession of Alcohol, Open Container of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle and the Speed.  The 17 year old passenger, also from Wilbraham was charged with Minor in Possession of Alcohol and the Open Container of Alcohol.


On March 1 at 1:46 p.m. a male victim came to WPD to report that he was assaulted by his girlfriend. The incident was subsequently investigated by Ptl Korzec and Captain Kane. Upon conclusion of the investigation, Alyssa Toomey 18 of Wilbraham was arrested for Assault and Battery domestic.
