On May 24 at 6:59 p.m. K-9 Officer Joseph Brewer and Ofc Brent Noyes responded to FL Roberts gas station on Boston Road for a male asleep in his motor vehicle. Subsequent record checks revealed that Timothy Baldwin 40, of Palmer was unlicensed and had a warrant for his arrest. He was arrested without incident.
On May 25 at 12:29 a.m. Officer David Diogo was traveling on Springfield St. when he observed the vehicle in front of him failing to stay in its marked lane. A traffic stop ensued. The female operator showed signs of intoxication and failed field sobriety tests. Sharon Campsie 42, of Indian Orchard was placed under arrest for OUI Liquor and Negligent Operation. She was also given a citation for the lanes violation.
On May 27 at 2:30 p.m. Officer David Diogo stopped a motor vehicle for a minor vehicle violation. The operator subsequently fled the stop. A short vehicle pursuit ensued which ended in a foot pursuit by Lowe’s in Springfield. Johnny R. Hallums-Burton 34, of Springfield was apprehended. He was charged with Refusing to Stop, Giving a False Name, Using a Motor Vehicle without Authority, Revoked License and other minor motor vehicle infractions. Assisting Officer Diogo were Chief Roger Tucker and Sergeant Daniel Carr.
On May 30 at 2:23 a.m. Officer Sean Casella stopped a motor vehicle on Boston Road for an inspection sticker violation. He found the operator showing signs of impairment. The operator, Matthew Corsi 23, of Palmer, failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for OUI Alcohol and cited for the inspection violation.
