On August 9 at 12:09 a.m. Officer Alderico Florindo, while conducting an unrelated traffic stop, observed a suspicious white pick-up truck parked by the United Church. Officer David Diogo made contact with the operator. It was later found that the operator had a suspended license and gave a false name to police. Justin White 29, of Ludlow was arrested for these charges by Officer Florindo. Mr. White was also charged with other motor vehicle violations.
On August 9 at 2:53 a.m. Officer Sean Casella observed a marked lanes violation by a white Jeep on River Road. The vehicle was stopped. The operator, Robert Verdon 37, of Chicopee showed signs of alcohol impairment and was subsequently arrested for OUI Liquor and Negligent Operation.
On August 9 at 3:52 a.m. Officer Christopher Arventos responded to a gas station on Boston Road for the report of a possibly intoxicated woman in her vehicle. After failing field sobriety tests Carla Verducci 43, of Wilbraham was placed under arrest for OUI Liquor.
On August 10 at 12:40 a.m. Officer Christopher Arventos observed a man slumped over his seat in an idling gold Cadillac by St. Cecelia’s Church. The operator showed signs of impairment and failed field sobriety tests. Jared Slingerland 24, of Springfield was arrested for OUI Liquor.
On August 10 at 2:00 a.m. Officer David Diogo observed a Buick Lesabre failing to stay within its marked lane on Boston Road. There were signs of alcohol impairment. The operator failed field sobriety tests. Janet Andrews 31, from West Hartford was placed under arrest for OUI Liquor and Negligent Operation . She was also charged with other motor vehicle offenses including texting while driving.
On August 4 Officer Thomas Korzec and Detective Jeff Rudinski investigated larcenies from homes on Balsam Drive and Raymond Dr. Victims reported jewelery and over $1000.00 in cash missing. On August 10 Det Rudinski questioned a suspect in Holyoke. After questioning the victim and witnesses, it was determined that a cleaning lady was responsible. Johanna Gaston 29, of Holyoke will be charged with Larceny over $250.
On August 11 at 1:42 a.m. Officer David Diogo stopped a motor vehicle on Stony Hill Road for failing to stop for a stop sign. The operator showed signs of intoxication. He failed field sobriety tests. George Pelchat 38, of Wilbraham was arrested for OUI Liquor, Negligent Operation and driving on a Suspended License.
On August 12 at 4:46 p.m. Officer Justin Wall was dispatched to Oakland St. for a report of a man possibly sleeping in a red pick-up truck. The operator showed signs of impairment. James Stevens 64, of Hampden was arrested for OUI Liquor and Negligent Operation.
On August 14 at 12:08 a.m. Sergeant Shawn Baldwin and Officer Sean Casella responded to Blacksmith Road. The call was for an irrational male throwing things around the home. A 24 year old male from Wilbraham was arrested for Domestic Assault.
