Some Recent Arrests

On September 2 at 8:53 p.m. Officer James Gagner responded to Shirley St. for a reported larceny.  Detective Jeffrey Rudinski did a follow-up investigation. The suspect, a house cleaning lady, admitted to taking the money.  Johanna Gaston 29, of Holyoke will be charged with Larceny over $250.

On September 6 at 4:05 a.m. Officer Sean Casella observed a running vehicle parked at an odd angle at Krazy Jakes restaurant.  Further investigation revealed that the operator showed signs of intoxication and later failed field sobriety tests.  Bria Pettie 22, of Springfield was arrested for OUI Liquor by Officer Casella.

On September 7 at 4:49 p.m. Officer Justin Wall spoke to a woman at the Wilbraham Police Department.  She came in and stated that her 38 year old husband from Springfield violated a restraining order by having an unsupervised visit with his children.  He was taken into custody in Wilbraham without incident.

On September 9 at 4:23 p.m. Officer Thomas Motyka responded to Tinkham Road for a motor vehicle crash. Witnesses reported the vehicle was seen at a very high rate of speed prior to losing control, going into the opposite lane and striking a tree. Michael Austin , 24, of Springfield will be charged with Operating to Endanger, a Lanes violation and Speed.

On September 10 at 8:21 p.m. Officer Thomas Motyka responded to an injured/intoxicated male at a restaurant on Boston Road.  It was later determined that two male roommates had been fighting across the street and the 36 year old male from Wilbraham was arrested for Domestic Assault and Battery.


On September 13 at 2:20 a.m. Officer Sean Casella was on Stony Hill Road behind a gray Honda Accord. The vehicle had an expired inspection sticker. The operator threw a lit cigarette out the window and was stopped. Kathaleen Omalley 30, of Indian Orchard showed signs of intoxication, was given field sobriety tests, failed, and was placed under arrest for OUI Liquor.  She was also charged with throwing the lit cigarette out the window, the inspection violation and negligent operation.

On September 14 at 1:50am, Officer Sean Casella was monitoring traffic on Boston Rd. Officer Casella observed a Ford Focus operating at a high rate of speed. Officer Casella subsequently followed the vehicle and observed numerous other traffic offenses. The vehicle was suspectedly stopped and the operator identified as Benjamin Lariviere 24, of Wilbraham.  Mr Lariviere exhibited signs of impairment and was administered field sobriety tests. Mr Lariviere failed the tests and was placed under arrest for OUI Liquor and several motor vehicle infractions.
