WILBRAHAM BOARD OF SELECTMEN PASS NEW TOBACCO REGULATIONS

On August 13, 2018, the Board of Selectmen voted to enact regulations entitled, Regulation Prohibiting Smoking in Workplace and Public Places and Regulation of the Wilbraham Board of Health Restricting the Sale of Tobacco Products. The regulations include, but are not limited to, raising the “minimum legal sales age” to 21 years old and expanding the regulation to include e-cigarettes and other vaporing products. The regulations also place a ban on selling flavored tobacco products and blunt wraps as well minimized pricing and packaging of cigars. Additionally, tobacco sales will be prohibited in pharmacies, health care and educational institutions, and public places. The regulations will go into effect on December 30, 2018.
